While BBQing on Monday, we found a tick in Elliot's armpit area.
We have a little "forest" area behind our backyard, and through those trees is the playground. The kids usually go through there, instead of walking by the side of the road. I am not sure if they got it there, but he managed to find trouble. Or rather, trouble finds Elliot.
Thank God Kim's sister was there, she put some olive oil on the tick and used tweezers to take it off. The wound doesn't look infected, so hopefully he won't develop lyme disease.
The day after we went to the local clinic and got the first of three vaccination shots. It was expensive (for swedes, considering health care is free); costing $30 a head. I couldn't get the shot because I am still breastfeeding, so I have to keep a sharp eye out for those ticks. It is really common here to get them.
